There’s a kind of pressure that comes with running an HVAC business that people don’t always see. It’s not just equipment and schedules and invoices. It’s being the one who answers when a family has no heat. It’s the responsibility of sending technicians into crawlspaces and attics and rooftops and expecting them to come home safe. It’s the weight of your name on the side of a truck—because your reputation isn’t marketing; it’s the sum of a thousand small decisions.

As I look at 2026, I’m not interested in big talk or vague goals. I’m resolved to do a few specific things—things I can measure, protect, and live out on job sites and in the office. These are my five:

1. Multiply myself through leadership hiring — Bring on an office manager who can help lead, strengthen operations, and elevate customer communication, while continuing to hire quality, ethical, and gifted technicians.

2. Lead with clarity — Communicate clearly on scope, options, timelines, and pricing so customers and the team aren’t left guessing, and trust is built on the front end.

3. Improve quality while keeping costs down—without playing the “big brand” game — Keep raising workmanship and technical standards while resisting high-pressure upsell tactics and avoiding pricing built on massive marketing budgets.

4. Give back on purpose — Continue investing in my church, children in our local schools, those in need, and our community as a whole, because business should bless more than the bottom line.

5. Keep my name worth something — Protect a reputation built on honesty, craftsmanship, and standing behind our work, even when it’s inconvenient or costly.
